The Color of My Dreams Chore Coat

$350.00

This chore coat was pieced together from a lagoon shaped quilt I made in 2021 titled “The Color of My Dreams.” At the time I wrote:

“I imagined a quilt made for the sleeping mind of someone who longs to look up at the sky from the ocean floor, for the dreamer who swims in a cerulean abyss. Fitting an entire sea into the rectangular frame of a quilt seemed inconceivable because the very essence of the ocean lies in its vastness. The architecture of a swimming pool, on the other hand, is a fitting shape for a quilt about aquatic dreams. Pools and dreams are both seemingly finite containers. Water is contained in a pool just as meaning and emotion are contained in dreams. However, when we awaken, the imagery, experience and mood of our dreams often stay with us, coloring the rest of our day. They permeate our waking lives just as there is water in every breath we take.”

Three years later, this quilt spoke to me, and it said it was time for a shape shift. Out of that exchange, this wearable art was born.
